The Vovko inn

Gostilna Vovko is an inn with a 45-year-old family tradition, which is now continued by the second generation.

The beginnings of the inn go back to 1977, when Rok's parents, Marina and Anton Vovko, first welcomed guests wanting great food, fine wine and local hospitality into their home.

In 2009, the inn was officially taken over by Rok and Manca Vovko. We are carrying on with the family's mission while striving to enhance our offer and quality. This is an inn that cherishes its tradition and knows how to bring it closer to local visitors, hungry travellers as well as business guests. The awareness that the inn also represents our region is deeply rooted in us. We wish to familiarize the visitors with our local environment and present it to them through food, wine and hospitality. We mainly focus on the cuisine of the Dolenjska region adding a touch of modernity to some of the dishes, while keeping some of the others the way our ancestors used to prepare them.

Gostilna Vovko is regularly ranked among the best eating establishments in Dolenjska and Slovenia by food critics. In 2018, 2019 and 2020, the international restaurant guide Gault-Millau awarded two toques to the Gostilna Vovko restaurant. Its quality is constantly acknowledged and reaffirmed by the best known Slovenian food critics. In 2020 and 2021, the world-renowned Michelin guide recommended Gostilna Vovko in its Slovenian edition and awarded it the “Michelin Plate” (fresh ingredients, a carefully prepared and good meal).
